In chapter 1 we cover the generations of Jesus Christ. Attention is focused on his birth in 1:21 saying ” And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. ”

Chapter 2, The Lord moved upon the wise men to go in search of Jesus Christ and this was in the days of Herod the king of Jerusalem. Herod did not like the sound of another king being born so he gathered all his chief priests and scribes together and wanted to know where Christ would be born. He told the wise men he wanted to find the Christ so he may go and worship him also.

 But the wise men in a dream from God was told not to return to Herod so they went back to their own land. And when Jesus being just born Joseph was also told in a dream to flee to Egypt because Herod wanted to kill the young child. But when Herod found out that the wise men did not return he was wroth with anger and he killed all the children in Bethlehem from two years and younger and there was great weeping at that time.

But when Herod died Joseph in another dream was told for him to take his family to Israel. But he took another direction when he found out that Archelaus took his father’s place as king because he was afraid. They came to a city called Nazareth.
